Shatonya Johnson

Shatonya Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA) and Behavioral Health Outpatient Counselor with over six years of experience in the counseling field. Her professional background includes work within legal settings, adult corrections, and juvenile detention centers, giving her broad experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most difficult transitions and challenges.

Shatonya earned her first Master’s degree in Addictions Counseling from Liberty University and recently completed a second Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She is currently pursuing licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate.

​

Her therapeutic approach is holistic, recognizing the important connection between the mind, body, spirit, and soul, and how each influences emotional and overall well-being. Shatonya enjoys partnering with clients to increase self-awareness, process life experiences, and work toward healing, personal growth, and purpose.

As a Christian and mother, compassion, faith, and service are central values in both her personal and professional life. When appropriate, she incorporates faith-based perspectives into treatment while creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all clients.

Outside of counseling, Shatonya enjoys serving on her church administration team, relaxing at the beach, spending quality time with family and friends, and getting lost in a good book on her Kindle.

Shatonya believes every person has a unique purpose and is honored to walk alongside clients as they discover and embrace theirs.
