My Story
Amanda was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina, where she developed a strong appreciation for connection and community. She has served in the United States Army Reserves for 19 years as a Military Police officer, demonstrating discipline, resilience, and a deep commitment to service.
Amanda and her wife spent four years as therapeutic foster parents for Wilson County DSS, providing stability and compassionate care to children in need. Their journey led to the adoption of their three children, who remain at the center of their lives.
She is also a certified therapy dog handler through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Alongside her dog, Riley, Amanda provides comfort and support through visits to nursing homes and community settings.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on developmental psychology in 2025 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling at the University of Mount Olive. She is passionate about understanding the unique experiences of others and believes in the transformative power of therapy. Amanda is committed to creating a space grounded in empathy, respect, and support for every individual she works with.
